What inspires you as a photographer?
- When I take photographs, I want to capture moments and experiences that I have had in my life, and my everyday surroundings make those experiences. So, I am inspired by the people and settings around me.
What subject matter do you like to photograph?
I like to photograph people and places, because the setting of a photo can be symbolic and meaningful depending on who looks at it, and the people in photographs can express emotions through body language and facial expressions.
What is your goal as a photographer?
My goal as a photographer is to take photos that capture a moment. When a person takes a photo, it might be the only time that a person will be in that place at that time, and in a photo, you can look at that moment for as long as that photo exists.
What do you want your photographs to convey or express?
I want my photos to express real and raw emotion that make people feel anything. Everyone could feel differently when they look at a photo, because everyone has had a different life. As long as a person feels something, the photo is accomplishing what I intended for it to do.
How do you want the viewer to feel when they look at their work?
I want the viewer to feel like they are understood, because by expressing emotion through photos, whether it be happy or sad, a person has felt those emotions at one point in their life.
Why is photography important to you?
photography is important to me because when I look at photos I have taken in the past, I am reminded of the times, places, and people I was with when I took those photos, and there are usually memories attached to them that I can be reminded of whenever I look at photos.
